One of our writers, Marshal Carper, had me laughing out loud on a train this morning. I wasn’t talking to him. I was reading his copy.
This guy’s words are magic. He’s funny and descriptive. I couldn’t help but laugh at certain passages, regardless of what anyone on the train thought about some guy (me) sitting alone laughing out loud.
I can’t tell you exactly what he was writing about. Or whom. But I assure you it’s good. There’s a good chance it will be the March cover story, so that’s just around the corner, which means you’ll get your chance to check it out soon.
Not only is it good, but it’s long. Most of our stories are in the ballpark of 1,200 words. His more than doubled that total. Actually, more than tripled. I’ve got to figure out what to do about that this morning.
But it’s OK. I’ll get a few more laughs along the way.
QUESTION OF THE DAY
Do you believe in God or the Big Bang Theory?
Regardless, somehow we all got here. And somehow the Pacific Ocean got here. And you should have been there Saturday.
Clouds from a distant storm provided the perfect canvas for Mother Nature. The autumn sun illuminated the cotton in the sky as yellows and golds bounced off the surprisingly warm November water. Pelican after pelican dove for fish as sea gulls scrambled to the site of the catch, hoping for scraps. A handful of us were in the water, hoping for one more wave before dark, as the sun slowly dipped its feet into Our Mother Ocean.
Until later ...
