It’s about 10:30 (on Thursday). We’re about 90 minutes into a four-hour session of meetings (at least my segment), and my stomach is growling like my cat’s.
By the time the food arrived, just before noon, everyone devoured it in about 25 seconds. I, obviously, wasn’t the only one who was hungry.
This whole thing got me thinking about the weight-cutting fighters do. Of course, I’m not cutting weight and this isn’t apples to apples, for many reasons, but I think we overlook this segment of their lives. Rightfully so, everyone is impressed with their skills, cardio and strength, but the weight cutting is an ordeal they go through.
In fact, in our March issue, we did a story on weight cutting with the UFC’s Kurt Pellegrino. While we were in Atlanta, we were right with him during the whole process. When he and his wife and camp went back to the hotel room, we were right with him.
So, check it out.
BTW, what time is lunch?
