The ratings are in, and the NFL remains a powerhouse. I checked the numbers in The Los Angeles Times earlier this week, and they scored something like 80 million viewers for their playoffs.
I believe the NFL has been around since 1920, so they've got a tremendous amount of momentum going. Plus, think of the names through the years... Namath, Montana, Sayers, Campbell, Sanders, Elway, Manning, Brady, etc. They have a huge head start on MMA.
The UFC's first show was in 1993, and they've got the ratings rolling along nicely on SPIKE for "The Ultimate Fighter." Give MMA some 90 years. It could garner some similar stats.
