Xyience Signs Silva to a One-Year Endorsement Deal

LAS VEGAS — Xyience, the official energy drink of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), and UFC pro fighter Wanderlei Silva signed a one-year endorsement contract, Xyience reported.

The deal became effective September 12, 2008.

The 32-year-old, Brazilian-born mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, who� is also a former PRIDE middleweight champion, will become the face of the beverage company in national marketing and advertising efforts and points of purchase in more than 10,000 retail outlets in the U.S. and Canada, Xyience reported.

Silva�’s trainer, Rafael Alejarra, also signed on to the endorsement deal with Xyience. Silva and Alejarra will collaborate with Xyience’s research and development team on supplement formulation, and Alejarra will write a series of training articles exclusively for Xyience’�s new website, set to launch in early December.�

Additionally, Silva is opening a mixed-martial-arts training academy in Las Vegas in late October. The 10,000-square-foot facility, located at 4631 Dean Martin Drive, will be a cutting-edge, full-service training center catering to both professional fighters and fitness enthusiasts, with a range of classes for adults and children and workshops conducted by top MMA fighters, including Silva.
