Strikeforce Fighters Set To Go on "Strike" Win a Free T-Shirt
Written by Doug Jeffrey
Mixed martial artists on strike? Yeah, man. Tonight.
Strikeforce fighters are going on “strike” tonight, and all the action takes place at San Jose’s HP Pavilion.
All the fighters made weight yesterday. Scott “Hands of Steel” Smith (13-5) weighed in at 185 ½ pounds and his opponent, Terry Martin (18-5), tipped the scales at 186 pounds. Strikeforce world light heavyweight (205 lb. limit) champion Bobby Southworth (9-5) and his opponent, Renato “Babalu” Sobral (30-7), both registered in at 204 lbs. Knockout artists and opponents Duane “Bang” Ludwig (17-8) and Yves Edwards (34-14-1) weighed in at 163 lbs. and 164 lbs, respectively.
I tried to reach Nelson “Doc” Hamilton, but he said he’s out of commission until after 11 this morning (Friday). He’s flying up to Northern Cal to judge the fights. This, BTW, is a man who should judge all the time. You won’t find many others who know as much as this man does.
Plus, if you’d like a T-shirt, send me an e-mail. Simple math.
