SACRAMENTO, California — It was about an hour after the fight, deep in the halls of Arco Arena.

The makeshift Media Room had only a temporary partition on one side to separate it from the hallway. Thus, the busy sound of workers wafted through the halls. On the other side, there is an adjoining room. Every time someone entered that room, which was quite often, a buzzer, similar to the buzzer the NBA uses when a new player goes into a game, went off.

Despite those unavoidable distractions, the post-fight press conference for UFC 73 was quite lively. And no one, for sure, cared about the extraneous noise, especially when Tito Ortiz showed up.

Rashad Evans and Ortiz, who fought to a draw on July 7, continued their war of words … barely. Just as UFC prez Dana White was ready to call it a wrap, Ortiz, sporting shades, showed up. White moved back and allowed Ortiz to take the podium. After discussing his perspective of the fight, “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” and Evans went at it.

“Every time I got in on you, you grabbed the cage,” said Evans.

“How about the Vaseline on your arms?” Ortiz countered.

“Take off your glasses,” said Evans.

Ortiz lifted them up, showing a large contusion under his right eye.

“All right bro, we’ll do it again.”

White confirmed the two light heavyweights will battle again soon.

Following is an overview of the fights.
