LOS ANGELES - ProElite.com announced that Platinum Fighting Production's five-part "Ring of Fire" World Team Challenge will be viewable on demand at ProElite.com. Coached by MMA legends Royce Gracie, Josh Barnett, Gokor Chivichyan and Ken Shamrock, four teams of world-class fighters will compete in events held in the Philippines, Macau, Japan and China. The best two teams progress to the final Ring of Fire slated for December 2008. Ring of Fire begins December 9 at Manila's Araneta Stadium, home to the historic "Thrilla in Manila" Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier fight. "We are making history streaming this spectacular MMA event, and there's no better place to make history than Manila, home of one of the most historic battles between two of the toughest and most accomplished professional athletes," said Kelly Perdew, president of Los Angeles-based ProElite.com. "Partnering with Platinum ensures the Ring of Fire is fiercely competitive with top notch fighters that will resonate with on demand viewers at ProElite.com." TEAM GRACIE Team Gracie features experienced grapplers Cleber Luciano, Jorge Patino, Daniel Serafian, John Marsh and Katrine Alendal. TEAM BARNETT Team Barnett will field Koji Oishi, Yuki Kondo, Renato "Babalu" Sobral, Jeff Monson and Ginele Marquez. TEAM GOKOR Team Gokar includes Karen Darabedyan, August Wallen, Rodney Faverus, Hakim Gouram and Amanda Buckner. TEAM LION'S DEN Rounding out the field is Team Lion's Den with Evan Dunham, Kyacey Uscola, Mike Whitehead, Ricco Rodrigues and Tonya Evinger. There will be a special match featuring Zach Light, coached by current light-heavyweight champion Rampage Jackson before the Ring of Fire tournament begins December 9 in Manila. Results and replay of the fights can be viewed on-demand for a low cost at ProElite.com beginning Dec 21st. |
