• At about 6:40 in the morning on September 11, 2001, I had just rolled up on my bike to the Metrolink Station in Newhall, when a woman, who was merely an acquaintance on the train, asked me what I thought of the plane crash. I had no idea what she was talking about. She told me a little bit about the incident, but I didn’t realize the magnitude of what had happened until I arrived at work. Let’s not forget those who died in those vicious attacks. It easily could have been any of us. • At UFC 88, we shot Kurt Pellegrino’s tattoos. Just before we finished, he said he wanted to show one more, so he turned his back and whipped his pants down … partially. I don’t think our photog (a female) really said anything, but based on the noise she made, I think she liked what she saw. That photo won’t run though girls, so don’t look for it. • In the early 1990s, I worked for Rainbow Publications, which published Black Belt, Martial Arts Training and Karate Kung Fu Illustrated. One day Ken Shamrock came in for a photo shoot. Before he left, one of the editors told him to mess with my head. They convinced Ken to walk up to me like he was going to rip me limb from limb. He did a great job of convincing me that was his intention. I bring that up because we have an interview with Ken later this morning. • Cycling’s World Anti-Doping Agency questions whether Lance is clean and other teams are questioning if he has the tenacity to perform at the level he did before? Do they really want to provide extra incentive to a man who almost succumbed to cancer? Crush them, Lance. |
