Positive Drug Tests, Junior Olympics and Open Workouts
Written by Doug Jeffrey

• EliteXC’s Antonio Silva, who has been fined and suspended for testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs, says there’s no way that can be true. There’s a lot riding on this, so let’s give him the benefit of the doubt … for now. Unfortunately, it seems like many athletes who now test positive are saying the test has to be incorrect. That’s certainly a possibility, for sure, but, at the same time, the defense is getting a little old. Let’s hope Silva is correct.

• UFC light-heavyweight fighter Jason Lambert told Ultimate Grappling that his son made the Junior Olympics as a member of a water polo team. Good genes run in the family.

• During a UFC open workout at Legends Gym in Hollywood, welterweight fighter Karo Parisyan was bringing intense heat for  the media, which included Channel 9.  Afterward, Parisyan, 25, spoke at length with us. Watch for his intriguing comments in an upcoming issue.
