Jackson and Evans, both former UFC light-heavyweight champions, are the coaches for “The Ultimate Fighter 10,” and they each were at the UFC Training Facility on Tuesday during media day.
Photos and interviews were the order of the day. Not only did SPIKE and the UFC shoot them, but TOPPS, the trading card company, also conducted a shoot.
Between photo sessions, the SPIKE PR staff made each fighter available for a brief interview. While the topics varied to numerous items, Jackson did say Evans has a “big mouth” and says “stupid stuff.”
“My biggest test will be to keep from attacking Rashad Evans during the show,” said Jackson.
At least part of the animosity stems from the previous occasion in which Evans got in his face and threatened to knock him out, said Jackson.
Among other topics, Evans said he was “embarrassed” by his loss to Lyoto Machida and, following the formal interview, the former champ said an unflattering thing or two about Jackson.
The season will premiere September 16 and showcase 16 heavyweights, the first time this weight class has been featured on “The Ultimate Fighter” since Evans was a cast member on Season 2.
