If you surf, like Rickson Gracie and a few other fighters, you know Great Whites exist, but you don’t really think about them when you’re out in the water. But when the L.A. Times runs a shot of a Great in the back of a boat, ready to get tagged, you think about them big time.

So I’m reading this story about Greats and come across a reference to MMA. Yeah, believe it or not.

This marine biologist says, “It’s as if aliens were to visit planet Earth, and the only thing they saw of human beings was ultimate fighting on TV.”

So there ya go. Those guys who you thought were nerds in high school are actually watching our sport … or at least they know about it.
