COLUMBUS, Ohio — Jens Pulver’s losing streak reached five when Javy Vazquez submitted the former UFC lightweight champ with an armlock in Round 1 of their WEC bout here Saturday.

Overall, Pulver has now lost seven of eight.

In other action, Dominick Cruz became the WEC banatamweight champ when he scored a TKO over Brian Bowles with a TKO in Round 2.

Joseph Benavidez submitted Miguel Torres in the second round, LC Davis scored a majority decision over Deividas Taurosevicius, Bart Palaszewski submitted Karen Darabedyan, Scott Jorgensen submitted Chad George, Chad Mendes defeated Erik Koch (unanimous decision), Anthony Pettis knocked out Danny Castillo, Fredson Paixao submitted Courtney Buck and Ricardo Lamas knocked out Bendy Casimir. Leonard Garcia and George Roop fought to a draw.
